Brutus came to us as a relinquishment, and the transition into shelter life has been a tough one for him. This sweet boy is understandably overwhelmed and very wary of his surroundings. At just 35 pounds, Brutus is a medium-sized mix with a gentle soul that’s still learning the world can be a safe and kind place.

Right now, Brutus is extremely scared and takes time to warm up to new people. He isn’t the kind of dog who will run up to greet you right away—but give him patience, space, and a little understanding, and you’ll begin to see glimpses of the dog he truly is. We truly believe that with consistency, love, and a calm home environment, Brutus will slowly come out of his shell and learn to trust again.
