Meet Danny Phantom 
Danny was eventually caught as a stray, and all signs point to him being dumped and left to fend for himself. 
This dog has traveled a remarkable stretch of the county, from country roads to across the bridge into Kentucky and then back over into Indiana—finally making his way into downtown Madison.
For weeks, Danny wouldn’t let anyone catch him. People could get close, but never close enough to slip a leash over his head. He was finally contained in a fenced backyard—where, exhausted and out of options, Danny made the heartbreaking choice to give up. 
At the shelter, Danny has slowly learned that humans can be kind. He has formed trust with the shelter staff, and is now accepting pets, affection, and love.  Danny needs a patient person… someone who understands that trust takes time.
He’s a known flight risk, meaning his future home will need to keep him safe with either a secure fenced-in yard, or leashed anytime he’s outside .What Danny truly needs most is love—slow, gentle, and consistent.
He needs someone willing to show him that he no longer has to run, that staying is safe, that love is real, and that this time… he’s finally home.
