HICKORY

Hickory came to the shelter as a stray alongside his brothers, Dickory and Dock, and it’s clear that the world didn’t give these boys the start they deserved. Hickory is a shepherd mix, and sadly, whoever had him before truly failed him.

He’s still learning the basics of being a loved pet — walking on a leash is new to him, though he is making progress every day. It also seems he never really knew human affection, which breaks our hearts… but also means there’s so much room for him to blossom. Hickory is gentle, unsure, and quietly hopeful, just waiting for someone to show him what kindness feels like.

With patience, consistency, and a little love, Hickory has the potential to become an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.
