Mickey & Side Kick didn’t end up at the shelter because they were unwanted. They ended up here because they were deeply loved. 

Their world changed when their owner became terminally ill and had to make the most heartbreaking, selfless decision imaginable—to say goodbye while they were still able, trusting the shelter to do what they could no longer do: find these two boys a safe, loving future together.

Mickey and Side Kick are a bonded pair, around 6–7 years old, and they have been side by side through every chapter of their lives so far. Losing their home has been confusing and scary, and they’re still a little shy as they adjust to the noise and uncertainty of the shelter. But give them a moment… a gentle scratch behind the ears or along their cheeks… and they melt into your hand, quietly asking for more.

They still have so much life left—years of sunny windows, warm naps, soft blankets, and peaceful mornings watching birds flutter by. What they need now is a home where they can stay together, where the stress of this sudden change can finally fade, and where they never have to wonder if they’re safe again.
